Janel Sauder, HBSc., Cert. GIS, GIS Manager
Janel brings seven years of GIS experience working for Conservation Authorities. She has a combination of environmental background and GIS. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Earth Sciences (Honours) and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (Post-Graduate). She has experience with ESRI’s software suite, including, ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ESRI’s Mobile Applications. She also has experience integrating geospatial data with Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D. While working for Credit Valley Conservation, she provided GIS support for long-term and short-term projects including but not limited to Lake Ontario Integrated Shoreline Study, Lakeview Waterfront Connection, CVC Integrated Watershed Restoration Strategy, Fletchers Creek Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan, and Credit Valley Watershed Natural Heritage System.
She is skilled at digitizing Ecological Land Classification from orthoimagery, and at synthesizing data from multiple sources to conduct criteria-based GIS analyses. Janel has managed and maintained geospatial data in support of larger scale natural heritage planning studies, as well as the associated metadata. Data quality and control is maintained throughout the course of data creation and management.
